THE YFS FOUNDATION BASIC TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH AWARD (BTRA)

The YFS Foundation in collaboration with Academic organizations will offer awards to recognize excellence in Basic translational research by a post PhD level junior investigator (within 5 years of completion of PhD) from any of the Basic Science Departments in the field of medicine. One such award will be presented annually.

NOTE: to promote “Team Science” applications can be made by more than one individual and if successful, the award will be shared equally. The YFS Basic Translational Award seeks to stimulate increased research within each Basic Science Department leading to innovations for improving healthcare. It is anticipated that any scientific discoveries will be translated into therapeutic interventions for a wide range of diseases.

Eligibility Criteria

Are you a post PhD level junior investigator in any basic science department of your organization?
Did you conduct any type of Basic translational research within your respective department?
Was all research submitted for the award undertaken during the tenure of applicant at his organization?
Was your tenureship independent or under the mentorship of a faculty member of the respective department? 

Following completion of the selection process, documents to be submitted to YFS Foundation:

Nomination letter from the selection committee.
Endorsement letter from the participating organization.
